Hello!

I've been writing YouTube Short scripts for a large channel, with subscribers and views both in the millions, for a few months now. I have 3 years of writing experience, but no experience with this form of writing prior to this gig. I charge $50 per script. The bulk of them are fictional, so they require some effort on my part aside from just writing (brainstorming, editing, etc). I am also often asked to do revisions.ย

How much would you charge for these scripts, plus revisions?ย

I've written scripts before and charged $150 to $200 per script (this was a few years ago). It took me 2-3 hours of work and the scripts were around 100-200 words long.ย

Have you tried to calculate how many hours it takes you to write a script from start to finish (including revisions) and then applied an hourly rate to get a ballpark of what you should charge? Sometimes, I find that's helpful for getting a starting point. $50 feels much too low, especially if each script you're helping produce is bringing in million of views. There's a lot of value in what you're doing!
