Have you tried to calculate how many hours it takes you to write a script from start to finish (including revisions) and then applied an hourly rate to get a ballpark of what you should charge? Sometimes, I find that's helpful for getting a starting point. $50 feels much too low, especially if each script you're helping produce is bringing in million of views. There's a lot of value in what you're doing!

I've been writing YouTube Short scripts for a large channel, with subscribers and views both in the millions, for a few months now. I have 3 years of writing experience, but no experience with this form of writing prior to this gig. I charge $50 per script. The bulk of them are fictional, so they require some effort on my part aside from just writing (brainstorming, editing, etc). I am also often asked to do revisions.

How much would you charge for these scripts, plus revisions?

Historically, I've been very against working for free. I recently applied for a gig that required a writing test, which was basically a small sample of the overall scope of work. I agreed because I was really interested in the gig, but not sure if I had the time availability. The test helped me understand the time commitment, as well as price it accordingly. So while I think working for free is not ethical overall, there are times it can be beneficial.
